The construction of the O'Neal Auction Center, LLC began in August of 2001
on seven acres of land at the junction of U.S. Route 13 and Del. Route 24 in
Laurel, Delaware. The Center held its first auction on January 26, 2002. The
15,000 ft² climate-controlled facility serves as the center and headquarters
for Jos. C. O'Neal & Sons operations. It houses a main auction gallery, state-of-the-art
offices for staff, a main office for auctions, storage, as well as a kitchen
area that provides dining services to patrons.
On auction days, a second auctioneer conducts operations in the back of our facility where yard & garden items as well as miscellaneous contents are sold. A conveniently lit lean-to provides sanctuary to auction goers and items for sale on days of inclement weather.
The 10,000 ft² main auction gallery contains a 1,600 ft² enclosed
showcase room where a third auctioneer sells jewelry, coins, paper items, as
well as other small items. The main auction gallery has the ability to hold
in excess of 1,000 people and also includes three large electronic door bays
for the easy loading and unloading of furniture and other items. Items such
as pictures and mirrors are displayed on the walls of the main auction gallery
underneath track lighting.
Visitors to the O'Neal Auction Center will find easy access off of Del. Route 24 as well as ample parking. Our facility contains state-of-the-art burglar/fire alarm systems as well as a chain-link fence for added security.
